Southeast Alabama Community Theatre (SEACT) was formed in 1974 to serve Alabama communities of Dothan and the Wiregrass area with opportunities to participate in theatrical productions for public performance. In its history, SEACT has welcomed people from all walks of life to contribute to an incredible range of productions from Pajama Game to My Fair Lady, and Showboat to Disney’s High School Musical. Drama, comedy, tragedy, an airborne Peter Pan and flying monkeys have all crossed the SEACT stage.

SEACT presents an annual four-show season, and also provides youth summer camp opportunities, dinner theatre, and special seasonal and student events. Anyone walking behind the SEACT curtain will find opportunities to direct, produce, stage manage, act, provide property, lighting and sound support, costume, or Munchkin-wrangle. You may also choose to simply sit back and enjoy a dramatic experience where applause is welcome and appreciated. SEACT is a 501(c) organization and depends on the support of its community and business members to help bring theatre to life in the Wiregrass.

Performances occur primarily at the Cultural Arts Center and the Dothan Opera House. Auditions are free and open to the public, and held year-round. SEACT also hosts children’s summer theatre camps in June and July.

Each season holds the promise of a new audience. Will you join us? Your SEACT family remains grateful for the opportunities our season members and contributors make possible to grow a vibrant and living theatre community for the Wiregrass.

You can make a donation at any time, or consider SEACT’s Endowment and Building Funds in your financial and estate planning. You can play a role, enriching our community with the arts by making SEACT a part of your legacy. Honor a friend or family member with a gift to SEACT.
